Mechanical Tubing

Mechanical Tubing

Mechanical Tubing is a tube measured in exact outer diameter sizes corresponding to the wall thickness, sometimes express in gauge. Mechanical tubing-s are used in applications with tight dimensional tolerances. Applications of mechanical tubing include engineering structures, tunnel piping-s, machinery pipelines, cranes and all types of civil works. Ferropipe offers custom cut length mechanical tubing to adhere the clients needs in order to avoid wastage. Mechanical tubing-s are easy to fabricate and generally provided with powder coating. Typical requirements of mechanical tubing-s are as follows. Dimensions and tolerances The standard dimensions and dimensional tolerances are shown in the table on page 7 and satisfy the requirements of the standard EN10305-1. The dimensional tolerances apply to tube supplied in the conditions defined by table 3, with the exception of tube supplied QT Quenched/tempered). Straightness Straightness better or equal to 1.5- is the basic requirement. Lengths The tube are produced in single random lengths ranging from 3 to 8 m. In general, mechanical tube in carbon steel and alloy steel are ordered in lengths of 2 meters. Quality checks Mechanical properties are verified in accordance with relative reference standards. Electromagnetic check is a basic requirement of mechanical tubing-s. Last but never the least Visual and dimensional checks are mandatory for at least 10% of the lot quantity. Surfaces and protection The product surfaces are cold finished, as required by EN 10305-1. The tube are protected internally and externally with oil, which provides temporary protection against oxidization in simple words rust. Tube ends The tube come with square cut and deburred ends. Certification Mechanical tube are supplied with DIN EN SIO 10204 3.1 certification with complete product traceability that included heat number and lot number traceability.
